Volunteer Opportunities

The People’s Health Clinic operates largely with volunteer medical and auxiliary personnel. In 2009, doctors and other volunteers donated over 5,000 hours of their time, which was worth $180,000 in medical services to Clinic patients!

Come be a part of it! We are always in need of more people to contribute their time and efforts during our Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday day and evening clinics. Volunteer opportunities vary based upon the needs of the clinic and the expertise of the volunteer. Training is available in some areas.

  • Medical personnel - Medical provider (MD, FNP, CNM, etc.), nurse, EMT, phlebotomist.
  • Translators – More than half of our patients speak Spanish as their first language and we need help translating critical information.
  • Clerical – Patient check-in (bilingual) and recordkeeping.
  • Web assistance – Help update our website or post to Facebook.
  • Outreach – Help develop brochures, prepare mailers, or arrange speaking opportunities in the community.
  • Events – Help our Event Coordinator plan events or assist at functions.
  • Reading to children in the waiting room
  • Other  opportunities – These include data entry and making meals for small events.
